We had a really lovely experience at Maya Norte. The staff were so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We sat in the beautiful outside patio where our kids could wander a bit from the table amidst greenery. It was calm and quiet. The good was brought quickly and was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was kind and considerate with our children and even put a candle in our desert as we were there for my birthday. Overall, a truly lovely experience and we'll definitely be back!
This was well worth the drive from our campground south of Chemainus! The owners are super friendly and take the time to chat with you if you would like. We came here with friends and we were so glad we did! The staff was all super friendly, the food was very flavourful and we like the Tapas style so that you could try a whole bunch of different items. The meatballs, mushrooms, shrimp plus so much more are all worth trying! It is not a very large place so make sure you reserve or plan to potentially wait for a table. They have a wonderful large patio deck outback for those warm summer months!
Wow... just wow. Incredible meal here tonight. An absolute gem in sleepy Ladysmith!! The Mexican/Spanish fusion menu is like a greatest hits collection. We struggled to choose as everything sounded amazing. Every dish was fantastic. The Tequila selection is impressive... this is where you bring your friends that don't like Tequila... show them the good stuff and they will finally get it!! Our server, Marisol, was so helpful and delivered a wonderful experience. This one will be a regular stop! Don't miss it!

Maya Norte is an excellent Spanish and Mexican Tapas restaurant in Ladysmith. We enjoyed a quiet meal on the back patio with efficient, friendly service. The scallops ceviche and Spanish ribs were highlights of an all round great tapas meal.
Live music and Tapas on Thursdays is a must, wide array of amazing dishes paired with beverages of yours choosing and live music is a perfect night out. Service and food was spectacular!!
I can’t believe it has taken us this long to discover this gem. We sat on the back patio and it was absolutely gorgeous. Loved the ambience. Very hip yet quaint. The food ... OMG. Absolutely delicious. We have the bread with olive oil and tomato which was out of this word! Also loved the ajillo mushrooms, quesadilla frita(from fresh board), Mexican corn ... we wish we weren’t so full because there was so much more we wanted to try. Every single dish was absolutely delicious and freshly made. I am lucky because I get to frequent the island with my job and I will definitely be back here. In fact, I look forward to it! Oh... And the margaritas were delicious as well! And last, but definitely not least... The servers and staff. They were friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. Lovely experience all around. Exceeded expectations. 10 out of 10!
Had a great evening here earlier this month. Excellent Tapas selection, all very tasty... and then delicious desserts. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Pity we live so far away!
